Timber transport in the spotlight
9:17am Friday 27th January 2012
TRANSPORT bosses are drawing up a map of suitable routes for transporting timber, to try to reduce the impact on minor roads.
North Yorkshire County Council says the timber economy is very important to the county, but said imapporpriate transportation can adversely effect communities and the environment.
A draft route map has been prepared by the North Yorkshire Timber Freight Quality Partnership and a consultation is under way.
The consultation runs until April 13.
Further details and a copy of the map can be seen online at northyorks.gov.uk/timbermapconsultation
