Portfolio Studios to sponsor Miss York 2012 competition

FINALISTS in this year’s Miss York contest are to be given a free pampering, makeover and photographic session at a top York studio.
Micklegate-based Portfolio Studios is sponsoring the photographic award in the Miss York 2012 competition.
Contest organiser Naomi Smith said each finalist would be invited to an exclusive photographic session at Portfolio Studios. They would be pampered and given a makeover by professional hair and make-up artists before being pictured by a top photographer.
“The finalists will each receive an image of their shoot to take away,” she said. “The package, worth nearly £200, is being given free to each of the Miss York 2012 finalists. From these photographic sessions, portfolio studios will then choose the winner of Miss Portfolio studios who will be fast tracked to the final 15, announced at the final of Miss York, which is to be held at a glamorous event at the Barbican on May 19.”
She said both the winner of the award and the ultimate winner of the Miss York title would also receive photographic packages. “Many of the contestants in Miss York are keen to get into modelling, so this is a fantastic opportunity for them to improve their confidence in front of the camera.
“Even if becoming a model isn’t their goal, it will still be a really fun experience for them.”
